This article explains Insight Notes' Refund Policy and details how to request a full refund within 14 days of purchase for our weekly (US$4.99) and yearly (US$49.99) subscriptions.
Updated over 5 months ago
Insight Notes offers a full, no-questions-asked refund within 14 days of purchase (or within 6 hours of transcription usage) across our billing channels.
- Insight Notes Yearly plan (US$49.99)
- Insight Notes Weekly plan (US$4.99)
Please note that there is a fair usage limit of up to 6 hours of transcription before you can request a full refund. If you used Insight Notes to record more than 6 hours' worth of notes and meetings, you are ineligible for a refund, as we incurred usage-based costs.
If you made your purchase through the Apple App Store, you can request a refund directly through Apple, but approval is subject to App Store policies. We understand this is not ideal, but unfortunately, this is not up to our developers.
How to request a refund for purchases made through our direct billing (when available)
- Reach out to us at nerdykarthik@gmail.com with “Refund request” as the subject line.
- Please share the email ID linked to your account in the refund request.
- Share your feedback (optional): We’d really appreciate it if you’d also share your reason for the refund request. You'll receive your full refund anyway regardless of the reasons you share – but this will help us improve our product and make it better for everyone.
- We will review your request upon receiving your email. As long as your request was raised within 14 days of purchase, we will promptly cancel the subscription from our end and initiate the refund immediately.
How to request a refund for purchases made through the App Store?
We cannot process the refund through Apple App Store Connect from our end, and you will have to raise the refund request yourself, following these directions:
- Open the App Store app.
- Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
- Go to Purchased and find the item.
- Tap the item, scroll down, and select Report a Problem.
- You’ll be redirected to the Report a Problem website. Proceed to raise your request.
- Apple will review your claim and make the final decision regarding your subscription. Apple's decision in this matter will be final.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I refund my service?
Refunding an Insight Notes subscription results in the cancellation of your subscription and your account will be downgraded to the Free plan. You can continue using Insight Notes as a Free user.
What if I miss a payment and my subscription expires? Will I lose my data?
No, when your subscription expires, your account will simply be downgraded to the Free plan. You can resubscribe anytime to continue enjoying recording without limits. Please note that if your account is deleted at any time, all associated data will be removed.
I canceled the trial a few hours before it ended in the App Store, but I am still charged.
According to App Store policies, cancellation must occur more than 24 hours before the end of the trial to guarantee the user is not charged. If you canceled too late (e.g., a few hours before the end), the system may have already queued the renewal and processed the payment.
Apple processes trial cancellations with a grace period, and canceling a trial does not immediately revoke access or guarantee avoidance of a charge if the cancellation occurs too close to the trial expiry time. To avoid charges, cancel your trial at least 24 hours before it ends.
